Mr. Giuliano Borsari, who is now the chairman of the board of administration, of which his sons Giorgio and Giacomo are also members, began working as a craftsman in the field of processing animal intestines in 1970. In 1981 he formed the society La.bu.nat, based in Marcaria (Mantova). In 1990 he moved all administrative and commercial activities to the new factory in Quistello (Mantova), which covers an area of more than 35,000 meters squared of which 10,000 are occupied by buildings. This factory is situated in the heart of the cattle and hog raising area of Italy. Today, the factory collects and completely processes more than 4,000,000 hog intestines annually. In addition to this primary activity there is also the processing of beef intestines and the final preparation or reprocessing of imported products to satisfy the requirements of the Italian delicatessen industry. In the slaughtering houses and at the factory in Quistello approximately 100 people are employed to which must be added the 30 people who work in the Bimex Casing factory in Hungary which is controlled by La.bu.nat |
